Patchwork Yokohama
Preface
by Pencil Louis
Patchwork Yokohama takes the reader on an adventure into
Japan. With Vince Patchwork as your guide, you can dig
bamboo shoots and plant rice, tote portable shrines at
festivals and attend Noh dramas, visit love hotels and
doctors, eat fugu and horumonyaki, delve into Japan's past
and future.
Patchwork Yokohama is a unique portrait of Japan. Its main
characters are Australians, Vince and Connie Patchwork, and
their Japanese friends, Osamu and Nozomi Atsukawa. Vince
moves through a procession of adventures, commenting on the
everyday as well as the extraordinary. Each experience is
seasoned with Vince's own whimsical observations.
