The occult belief in the existence of an "astral plane", the invisible duplicate of the physical world is such a vast one, with a mountain of literature available to the enquiring mind, and a thousand different definitions of this other world, that I shall try to keep to the basics; allowing the reader to decide for him/herself if such a place exists. To the occult fraternity, there is no doubt. They describe a world of swirling energies, psychic forces and strange creatures that coexist with us but on a different vibrationary level. It is the realm where spiritualists make their contacts at seances, their ambiguous messages having been transmitted by the spirits inhabiting this world. The thousands of people who disappear each year for no apparent reason may have actually moved bodily into the astral plane. Although time, space, distance and the laws of physics have no meaning in this bizarre world that coexists with our own, there is a geophysical alingment with the physical world which exerts a strange influence over its inhabitants, ie. the spirit beings of one land mass are unaware of those coexisting with other land masses. There has also been a great many stories and tales, both within and without secret occult circles, about the extremely potent effect of a certain psychic power to motivate changes in circumstances which is formed by energies operating deep within one's own mind. A study of this secret teaching is a lifetime's work and can usually only sustain the interest and perseverance of one with much mental and spiritual vigour, though there are several books on the market explaining tn light; red for dealing with a difficult situation, especially in dealing with a problematic person. If you are unable to visualize colors clearly, a simple white light will do. Try and actually breathe in this mystic light through the pores of your skin. Imagine it circulating within you, and radiating from you. Now spend a few moments thinking about whatever it is that you seek in the way of happiness and peace of mind. That's all there is to it, repeat the psychic technique each day until there is an improvement in your situation. This is, in effect, basic occultism. Some people wonder how anything so simple as this can work. These are the people who have never tried it. Some, however, try it and do not get results. Usually their inbuilt scepticism, doubt or tension, foils their effort. But when these negative conditions are absent success is almost always instant and automatic.
