Something Weird by Carl Nagel;
Part One: Dimension X
Dreamland Of The Gods
Streaks of lightning flashed across the night sky as an
angry cloudbank gathered over the city. The streets of the
city were deserted, and the tall buildings that where its
heart and soul were dark, unoccupied, forlorn. Into the
surrealistic landscape there came a stranger in a land where
strangers often met. He looked up at the sky and waited.
After a long moment a light appeared somewhere deep within
the cloudbank, and grew steadily brighter until a strange
cigar-shaped object suddenly burst into view. It sat there,
hovering silently, emitting blinding rays of intense white
light. Suddenly the mysterious craft disappeared back into
the clouds. Minutes passed. Then the clouds parted and
revealed a dark, eliptoid-shaped object with a row of red
lights across its center. The flashes of lightning behind it
added an eerie effect. It, too, hovered silently for a few
moments before rising up into the darkness.

I forced myself awake and wrote down as many details of the
dream as I could remember. It was 1 a.m. in the morning of
May 14, 1983, and I had just succeeded in opening my
consciousness to alien contact. From secret bases in Nevada,
Peurto Rico and South America, alien minds are reaching out
to us. And one sure way of making a safe contact is through
the world of illusion which is our dreams.

To the people of the ancient world dreams were signs sent
from the gods; foretelling future events, and were a source
of fascination for both scholar and philosopher alike. In
the 1st Century, A.D., the philosopher Josephus wrote: "Let
me produce the state of sleep as a most evident
demonstration of the truth of what I say, wherein souls,
when the body does not distract them, have the sweetest rest
depending on themselves, and conversing with God, by their
alliance with Him; they then go and foretell many futurities
          beforehand."

In the early 1900's dreams were explored on a more
scientific level by Dr. Sigmund Freud in terms of therapy
for patients who had emotional disturbances. Whilst
accepting that in the ancient world, dreams were believed to
be prophecies of things to come, both good and bad omens
sent from the gods, he developed the theory that all dreams
were reflections of repressed sexual desire. Maybe so, but
there is another side to these nocturnal visions. One which
has the wherewithal to move all our lives down a very
different path. Dreams are as old as man himself. Always
fascinating, sometimes frightening, they reflect the unknown
dimensions of the subconscious and can put us in contact
with forces greater than ourselves. Occultists believe that
dreams are the links of connection between the physical and
the astral worlds. Spirits occasionally communicate with us
through dreams to pass on secret knowledge. For example, to
give power to your desires imagine tiny, gold-colored
translucent spheres in the air around you, as you hold the
desire firmly in your mind. In dreams the mind becomes
passive and receptive to external influence. Little wonder
then that other, more advanced, intelligences would choose
dream manipulation as a means of communication. However, to
the details of how to open your mind to alien contact.

An hour before bedtime, sit down with a book about alien
abductions and/or UFOs. Try to absorb the essence of the
encounters - the kind of clothes the aliens wore, what they
did to the abductees, how they communicated, what their main
concerns were, how their spacecraft operated. It's helpful
to sensitize your mind in this way, although not entirely
essential, since time, distance and space are disintegrated
within seconds in the dream state. Still, a little
preparation can make things easier for you.

Just before you go to sleep, concentrate on a field of
golden light, imagining the inside of your head to be filled
with its radiant energy. The inner light you are now seeing
is the golden aura of psychic power within you. Hold the
golden light firmly in your mind as you doze off. The image
of this light must be absolutely clear and vivid in every
way. Concentrate on the aliens you are trying to reach. Your
sensitized mind will take care of the rest. Keep a pad and
pencil next to the bed, and write down as much as you can
remember as soon as you wake up. This is very important,
because all of the details of your contact with alien minds
will vanish in a few minutes after you arise.

A word of apology: success is not always on the first try.
Persist until a result comes. You should never miss a day.
Patience is necessary. If you are really sincere, and put a
great deal of time and effort into making it work, you will
have a very unique psychic experience.
