Resort,Resource, Recourse

There is much pardonable confusion about these words. The most common mistake is to write "have resource to" instead of "have recourse to" or "have resort to". The correct usage can be illustrated thus:

They had recourse (or had resort, or resorted) to their reserves; it was their last resource (or resort); they had no other resources.
