Note 013
by Joachim C. Fest

See Paul Kluke, 'Nationalsozialistische Europa Ideologies', VJHfZ, 1955, No. 3. 'As though by a magnet' - Hitler employed this image also on another occasion in his table talks -'the best, as it were the metallic, iron-containing proportion of mankind, must be extracted by us from the Germanic peoples.' This, together with his unveiled expansionist policies, was basically his 'Europe Programme', about which he would not, as Goebbels noted in his diary on 9th March 1943, 'go into details'; see also Picker, Tischgesprache, entry for 15th July 1942.

From Chapter 5 ,Victor and Vanquished , Part 1 of The Face Of The Third Reich by J.C. Fest -- See further Notes
